Harness x Google Meetup

Amazing experience at the Harness x Google Meet-Up on 10th December 2022 organized at the Google Bengaluru office. There were informative sessions focusing on Google Cloud & cloud databases. Also, there was a practical workshop on DroneCI.

Abirami Sukumaran from Google enlightened about the concepts of Google Cloud Platform (GCP). She explained about the concepts and functions of Google Cloud Databases. She also touched upon the concepts of serverless computing. Majorly, the session focused on CloudSQL and Cloud Run. CloudSQL is a completely managed service in the Google Cloud which helps to manage and administer databases in MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQL Server and, Cloud Run is a tool which helps to deploy and scale containerized applications in a full managed cloud environment, which hence makes the deployment faster and more secure.

Kamesh Sampath from Harness, gave a detailed explanation on the use and functionality of Harness platform. Harness is an intelligent software delivery - CI/CD platform. He conducted a hands-on workshop on DroneCI, which is a automation platfrom for software testing and delivery. Workshop was mainly practical based, by which he described the working of DroneCI and Harness platform as well as it helped to understand and implement core concepts of DevOps like Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD & Cloud. It was a helpful and a experiential learning session.

I am grateful to Google & Harness for organizing such an amazing event and bringing together professionals, students, tech community members & industry experts on a platform to share knowledge, network and grow together. I met some amazing & inspiring minds from the community at this event. It was a productive and a useful knowledge sharing session which helped me to learn various concepts, technologies and terminologies.

Looking forward to future events at Google!
