Rakuten Technology Conference - An Indo-Japanese Tech Experience & Learning

The day when I had a first hand experience at a corporate office environment of a tech giant. I was really excited to learn new things, experience new things and observe new things. I attended the first tech conference of my life, which was the amazing Rakuten Technology Conference 2022. I knew about the Japanese tech giant and I was really keen to know more about the vision & mission of the company, as well as to learn the new concepts and technologies to be discussed at the conference. 

The Rakuten Crimson House - Global Innovation Center is located in the heart of the "Silicon Valley of India", Bengaluru. It was my first time entering in a corporate office, so it was really fascinating to observe various new, unique & innovative things at the Crimson house. 

Firstly, there was a live session from Japan by the CEO of Rakuten Group Inc.- Mickey (Hiroshi) Mikitani about the theme of Rakuten Technology Conference 2022 - Tech & Green as well as he enlightened about the vision and mission of the company. Following it was the introductory welcome note by the CEO of Rakuten India - Mr. Sunil Gopinath in which he threw light upon the different aspects of the theme as well as the topics to be discussed at the conference by various speakers.

There was a great line-up of speakers who are leaders and experts in their respective fields,

Srikanth Nadhamuni shared some interesting insights on the topic of IndiaStack and Aadhar. He was among the founding members of the Aadhar identity stack in India alongwith other industry stalwarts like Nandan Nilekani. He elucidated the core concepts of the IndiaStack, how it works and why is it so important for the country & the citizens. He explained the complexity of the functionality of the Aadhar network due to the diverse and vast population of India, but in spite of that, the IndiaStack is one of the most successfully working identification stack in the world keeping in the mind the size of the users. It was really a thought-provoking and informative session by the highly knowledgeable speaker.

Gaurav Aggarwal delved deep into the concepts of AI and explained how the principles and technology of Machine Learning, Deep Learning works using various concepts like the Convolutional Neural Networks , generative ai ,etc. He described various use cases and real world examples where Google has used these technologies to innovate and create amazing products & services. It was an amazing session which helped to gain knowledge about the real world concepts of AI.

Siddharth S touched upon the theme of the conference by talking about the use of technology in creating and maintaining a greener world. Also, he illustrated different types of green technologies ( GreenTech) which will help in enabling a greener environment. It was a great knowledge sharing session on using technology positively for the environment.

Himamshu Khasnis discussed upon the telecommunication networks and shared various points on the generations of the telecom industry in India as well as he described about the functionalities of the core topics of the telecommunication networks.

I would like to thank all the respectable speakers who enlightened the audience by sharing their (profound) knowledge and experience on various intriguing and interesting topics.
