Mumbai Technology Meet-up - #mumtechup
I travelled to Mumbai for a few days to attend & participate in various workshops and technical events at the Techfest IITB (Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay). On the final day of the Techfest, I had some spare time and hence I productively used this opportunity by attending the December '22 #mumtechup - DevOps at the DirectiPlex in Mumbai.
This was special event for me as it was the first tech event which I attended in Mumbai. It was an amazing experience to meet , connect and network with the tech community in the 'Financial Capital of India' - Mumbai.
It was a great learning opportunity and experience for me as I got to know various (insights) of the DevOps field and the tech industry, from the experienced professionals. The technology meet-up focused on the core concepts of DevOps and there were thought-provoking discussions on the working, functionalities, (intricacies), flaws and updates of various technological tools , concepts and platforms.
Prathamesh Sonpatki shared interesting details about the policies and contracts in distributed systems. He explained the Rasmussen's model of how accidents happen which describes about the boundaries of economics, workload pressure and safety regulations. He elucidated about the service level objectives (SLO's) of any distributed system. It was really an insightful session.
Bismeet Singh shared about the various deployment strategies and mainly focused on the Blue-Green deployment strategy. He illustrated the Blue-Green deployment on AWS using AWS Code Deploy. It was an informative session and a practical learning session about deployments.
Maninderjit Bindra discussed about the ephemeral testing environments in GitOps. He touched upon the core concepts and understanding of GitOps. It was a great knowledge sharing session.
I would like to thank all the speakers for sharing their knowledge and experiences. Also, I am grateful to all the fellow attendees who has a healthy discussion on various topics which helped me to learn various intricate details and working of the real-world technologies.
Special thanks to Augustine Correa and Hackerspace Mumbai for providing this opportunity to participate in this amazing meet-up. Looking forward to attend more amazing events and connect with the members of the Mumbai tech community, whenever I'm in Mumbai in future.
